DAY 223

I had a super busy day of loads of errands due to the fact that big sis week (aka the crafting week from hell) is coming up. I have never seen so many ribbons and different paint colours in my entire life, and until today had no idea how to use modge podge or what it even was. After a day of crafting, I am sad to report that I still don't really know what modge podge is and the only noticeable difference in my apartment is the amount of glue on the floor left over from my attempts at using a glue gun.

In addition to the need for a comfortable outfit, it was also circa 60 degrees outside (idk anymore, Cville weather), so I wanted to wear layers. I went with this feather print shirt with flared jeans (it was colder in the morning) and a knit cardigan over top that I took off later. Not sure if they're really visible in this photo, but I also wore my favourite big sunglasses. I love big sunglasses- I'm talking the obnoxiously big ones that cover 1/3 of your face- for this summer. I feel like aviators or those round hipster ones are a bit overworn (although I love them), so I've been wearing these a lot to switch it up lately. I love the retro feel they add to an outfit!

DAY 222

I love this quilted jacket as my go-to spring/fall outer layer. It's a little oversized and may or may not be my mother's from a decade ago, but it's perfect for some added texture or an added layer! I wore it today because by some miracle, it is still 60 degrees. Currently praying to every god there is for this weather to stay another week.

Underneath, I wore this pretty pink flowy shirt that I bought in high school and haven't worn since. This look can easily be transitioned to night time by ditching the jacket, adding some accessories, and maybe changing the shoes to something darker and more appropriate for going out. Because although I have gone out in a sweatshirt and UGGs before (low point), I generally like to put at least a minimal effort into my outfit when I go out in case there are pictures taken... and I'm in a sorority, so pictures are always taken. DAY 221

I kid you not, it was 60 degrees today. I may have gone a tad overboard and refused to wear a jacket even though 60 is not even close to appropriate non-jacket-wearing weather.

Today's look plays into two of my biggest fashion loves: the 90s and men's attire. I know the last one is strange, but seriously: if you've ever worn a guy's shirt/sweater/t-shirt/jacket, you KNOW how comfortable they are. Oversized styles (aka perfect for leggings), often thick materials (go-to for cold weather), and simple patterns or colours (so they go with literally everything) make men's fashion a huge component of my wardrobe. This polo is my dad's, and I love it because it's comfy AF and also because polo shirts are something that you don't really see in women's fashion- and often with good reason. I only like polos that have a vintage feel to them, and steer clear of anything vaguely Abercrombie-esq.

I paired this polo with leather leggings and my white high-top all stars, which was a nice break from boots.

DAY 220

The snow is finally melting! I hate winter.

After waking up at the ungodly hour of 7am to write a paper due at 12 (oops) and showering, I wanted something quick but chic to wear because I have been wearing the same sweatshirt and leggings for a few days now, contrary to what you might see on this blog. Those outfits last circa 2 hours before I have to change into comfy clothes.

I went with this all-black chic look with a dark red lip. I think it's kind of a sophisticated-grungey look (at least that's what I'm calling it and hoping for the best) and it's perfect for everyday! Can easily be dressed up with some kind of black heel or wedge boot, too.

The top is from H&M and is a simple t-shirt with mesh detailing by the collarbone. Then I just wore simple black skinny jeans and buckle booties. I accessorized with hoops, midi rings, my coin necklace (what else is new), and the red lip. Praying for the days when I can wear short sleeves without a coat!!!

DAY 219

Today's outfit was- as usual- simple and casual. I paired a long cardigan with a loose white shirt over dark rinse skinny jeans. You can still make a simple outfit your own by paying attention to the small details. For example, I love this cardigan because of the elbow patches that make it unique, and these cute gold stud earrings have such interesting detail that they're different from your ordinary stud earring.

Use accessories to personalize even the most simple of outfits. Maybe you have a favourite scarf or a necklace you wear everyday (like my coin necklace I haven't really taken off in a few years). It'll make choosing your outfits that much easier in the morning!

DAY 218

I have been really bad with consistently posting lately. However, since I'm pretty confident my audience consists of my mother and a few friends who are reading my blog as a joke, this shouldn't be an issue. I remembered to post today though! So here you go, mom:

Today's outfit featured my favourite jeans (my flared ones). I really like them with these pointed-toe ankle booties that look vaguely cowboy-boot-esque under the jeans but aren't really because I'm not nearly Southern enough for cowboy boots, nor do I want to be.

I love the colour scheme of this outfit: the brown and the burnt orange and deep burgundy complement each other really well. The layering adds dimension to the outfit too. If you live in a place currently suffering from this winter storm that is currently keeping me from leaving my apartment (no complaints there), make sure to layer to stay warm and fashionable at the same time!

DAY 217

I'm tired of wearing pants, so today I wore a skirt despite the cold. There's only so many times a week I can wear leggings before I have to do laundry, and there are only so many times where wearing skinny jeans seems remotely appealing. Now that the Holidays are over, winter has lost all its appeal and I am so so SO ready for summer.

I paired a hunter green sweater with a black patterned skirt. To stay warm, I wore over the knee socks with my tights and black boots. This would look cute with a dress, too, so I'm planning on repeating a similar look later this week.

DAY 216

Today's outfit was simple and comfortable for a late brunch with some friends. We found the cutest diner with all this great food and more kinds of pancakes than I've ever seen. We ordered the banana nut pancakes and the strawberry ones; both were so good!

Best way to start off the day for sure. You can always tell which diners are good by the amount of elderly there- this restaurant was solely populated by people over 60. It was great.

I wore skinny ripped jeans and moto booties paired with a light blue sweater. I love the waffle pattern on the sweater- it adds texture to the outfit and contrasts the top with the similarly coloured jeans. To stay warm, I added a knit infinity scarf.

DAY 215

I absolutely love boho-chic fashion, especially for summertime when it's easy and comfortable to throw on whatever loose hippie-esque clothes you own and be able to call it a trend. In the winter, it's a little harder to achieve this, but I think that stores like Free People, Anthropologie, and surprisingly American Eagle have a great selection.

This top is from Free People and I absolutely love the beaded detail on the neckline as well as the deep v and bell sleeves. I wore it for a night out with my friends and paired it with berry coloured jeans to complement the black and add something a little different than my usual skinny jeans or leather pants. Some cognac ankle booties finished off the look. Simple and still chic and perfect for a low key night out!

DAY 214

Today's look features the most comfortable pants on the face of the earth. Like sweatpants, but more stylish. I call them my "turkish pants" (much to my Greek mother's dismay) and I know they're summer pants, but I LOVE them and I can't wait till warm weather to wear them.

I wore them today with a black sweater with white accents to keep the look all black and white, then finished off the look with white high top All-Stars. The perfect casual but street chic look! I accessorized with hoop earrings (I think I've actually worn them every day this week... oops) and midi rings, my latest fashion obsession.

Since I grew up in/spend my summers in Europe, I've had a bit of an obsession with this style of pants for a while. Literally EVERYONE has a pair in various colours and patterns, and I remember visiting my friends back in Italy over the summer and lusting over how effortlessly cool they looked. For sure investing in a few more pairs when I'm back this summer! I think Urban has a few different pairs, if you live in the States and are looking for a pair.

DAY 213

To cover up a bad hair day, my latest obsession has been "turbans". Not actual turbans, but more these head scarf things tied in a knot in a front that I have no idea what they're actually called. So I am referring to them as turbans.

I've also really been loving these flared jeans as an alternative to skinny jeans (TBT to 5th grade when they were a huge trend, amirite). They're a lot more casual and flattering on pretty much everyone because they elongate your legs and balance out your body by creating more volume on the lower half of your body.

I wore them today with a floral patterned chiffon scarf that I tied around messy curls from last night (tutorial on how to achieve the boho head scarf here) and an orange v-neck because the colour complements the floral scarf. For accessories, I wore my favourite ridiculously large hoop earrings to go with the boho vibe of the jeans and pointed toe ankle boots.
