DAY 182

Over-the-knee boots are huge this year on the runway during Fashion Week and on the streets on celebs like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Olivia Palermo. Over-the-knee socks are also a big and way more comfortable trend, although it's kind of difficult to style them well without looking vaguely hooker-ish.

I paired these cozy knit ones over tights and over thigh-high boots to minimize this effect, and it ended up looking chic instead of trashy. These are very old and probably hand made by my mother or grandmother, but you can find similar ones at Cotton On for relatively cheap!

For the rest of the outfit, I wanted to keep warm and still be comfortable, so I paired a knit turtleneck sweater with a simple white skater skirt. Wearing white in winter is easy to do when paired with darker colours and as long as you keep the style weather-appropriate, it can look crisp and make your outfit pop more than a black skirt would, for example. Pair your summer dresses or skirts with tights or throw on a sweater over top, and you're good to go!
