DAY 139

This is the second day in a row featuring a Christmas sweater, and I couldn't be happier. Today's outfit featured a red dress that I made fall-appropriate with over the knee boots and a knit cardigan. Since I matched the black boots to the black and white sweater, it didn't clash at all and actually provided a nice contrast to the summery dress!

For an easy transition from summer to the colder seasons, just incorporate some kind of sweater into your outfit. You can find neutral staple cardigans or sweaters at pretty much any store, and they are sure to add warmth and style to any summer outfit!

DAY 138

Shorts in the winter has for some reason become an acceptable trend, and I'm not gonna question it if it means I can wear my high waisted shorts year round and call it trendy. Just pair your favourite shorts with tights, add some boots, and you're good to go!

It is also the perfect time to start breaking out those tacky Christmas sweaters we all have- I have somewhere between 2 and 15- because quite honestly they are the best investment you can make for the winter season, in my opinion. Dress them up over a tight skirt or dress, or wear them with leggings for a lazy day, or wear them with shorts like I did! Seriously, if you don't have one, go to your nearest Goodwill immediately. I guarantee they will be the best investment you'll make all year.. particularly if you live in a colder area.

DAY 137

For today's look I paired this forest green cable knit sweater with a white lacy skater skirt. In addition to the sweater, I added tights and booties to make it more fall-appropriate. The red lip and gold accessories finished the look! I'm loving deep colours for fall because they complement every skin tone.

DAY 136

The denim-on-denim trend has been around for a while as a style that can be modified for any season. For the summer, high-waisted shorts or a denim skater skirt with some kind of denim shirt is an easy and cute outfit. For fall days when it's not so cold, a simple chambray shirt and skinny jeans is a fast way to look on trend and put together. There are so many ways you can dress it up or down!

I wanted to keep the outfit relatively neutral, so I only added silver hoops and my stacked heel booties from Forever 21. It is Monday, after all.. creativity and colour (as well as happiness) is reserved for the rest of the week.

DAY 135

I decided to deviate from my usual slob-Sunday look because I had a bunch of errands and meetings to go to all day and therefore had to look semi-put together. Hence, the cheetah print flats: something about them just makes me feel sophisticated and like I should be running around New York City drinking a lot of Starbucks, Gossip Girl-style.

To go with the flats, I wore a simple red tank, grey cardigan, and my favourite skinny jeans. To keep warm and add something extra to the outfit, I also added this printed scarf that reminds me of an oriental carpet that we used to have at my grandma's house. Contrary to popular belief, you can mix prints and not look over-the-top; just make sure that the prints don't clash and have relatively similar colour schemes!

DAY 134

I put together this outfit because I was very pressed for time and the skirt is honestly the first thing I grabbed out of my closet. Which, given the amount of cardigans and leggings I have, is somewhat of a surprise... anyway, I paired it with a matching black top and black booties for a very simple fall outfit!

DAY 133

I went with a rather uncharacteristically preppy look today inspired by the French. I'm looking into studying abroad in Paris next year **for the studying, of course, dad** so I've kind of become obsessed with the sophisticated and simple chic French lifestyle. I'm obsessed with everything from the clothes from Paris fashion week to the cafes to the multitude of French cheeses. It's bad.

I layered a white button down shirt under this burgundy sweater I purchased at a thrift shop and paired it with khakis and my oxfords for a more sophisticated look. A camel peacoat (not pictured) and this beautiful Italian silk scarf completed the look.

DAY 132

I just got back from the gym (yes I know it's past midnight) so I've just now had the time to sit down and post. Thankfully, I just had my last midterm today so I am ready for the weekend!

Since I got very little sleep last night, I had to put something together in a rush to cover up my bad hair day and still look acceptable for a dinner out with friends. I tend to rely on my favourite flannel in these situations.. I seriously need to expand my flannel collection a bit. Invest in a few good flannels or hit up your local thrift shop where you are guaranteed to find loads of them of questionable quality but for a very low price! Flannels should be a staple in everybody's - male and female- wardrobe. Plus, the tartan print is very in trend for fall/winter.

DAY 131

I love 90s style- think 90210 or Fresh Prince- and try to incorporate it whenever I can into my wardrobe. I love the shoulder pads on this thrifted blazer as well as the more masculine fit of it, both of which were huge 90s fashion trends. Figuring I had limited days to wear it before the winter weather hit Charlottesville, I decided to wear it today paired with simple black clothes underneath to make the vibrant red colour pop.

My order came in yesterday (woo!) and in it were these amazing faux- leather leggings. I had taken advantage of a massive 50% off sale Tobi had a few weeks ago, so I got them for about $16 which isn't bad at all considering leather is proving to be such an important fall staple this year. I love them because they aren't overly shiny and don't look cheap, and the texture is a cute contrast to regular leggings. Will definitely be wearing these frequently in the months to come!

DAY 130

I was recently inspired by Selena Gomez ( as seen in these pictures here). She's been rocking the top knot, hoops (which I love) and dark red lips (which I also love) a lot lately and so I set about trying to put together an outfit around these three components.

Back when I used to have hair, this top knot would probably have looked a bit better, but overall I'm pretty happy with how it turned out! Since it's the Tuesday of midterm week, I opted for a way more casual look than Selena, pairing an oxblood cardigan (it appears to be coming out brown in the pictures for some reason) with ripped skinnies and my high top all-stars.
